About Me.

My name is Mette Braat, a 21 year old interior designer with a deep passion for creating unique and eclectic spaces. In 2022, I started my studies at Akademie Vogue in Amsterdam, specializing in all-round styling. As my interest in interior design grew, I decided to focus on this field. By 2025, I successfully obtained my bachelors as interior designer and am eager to further develop my skills, refine my signature style, and establish myself within the industry.  

 

I draw inspiration from the interplay between vintage pieces and modern textures, combining different eras and materials to create spaces with depth and character. By experimenting with color, fabrics, and unexpected design elements, aiming to bring personality and vibrancy to every interior.  

 

At the end of 2025, I will relocate to Sydney, where I look forward to embrace new creative opportunities, expand my design perspective, and continue to shape interiors that tell a unique and compelling story.

 

During my studies at Akademie Vogue, I completed a personal analysis to better understand and develop myself. This showed that I am supportive, communicative, cooperative, loyal, and thorough. These qualities help me to work well within projects and ensure that I am focused on both quality and good collaboration.

 

Besides my studies, I have worked with children for the past three years. Through this experience, I have learned to take on a lot of responsibility, to assess situations well, and to stay flexible. Working with children requires patience, clear communication, and the ability to provide structure. Those are skills that I now also apply in my work as an upcoming interior designer. These experiences have strengthened my professional attitude and taught me to always keep the people I work with in mind.

I am very excited to start a new adventure in Australia and look forward to gain new knowledge and experience. I hope to learn and grow within a company during my internship, and to further develop both my creative and professional skills.
